680km Bike Ride in China for Macmillan

Wonderwoman Juanita Williams from Oldbury has done it again this year!

She completed this years bike trek in China for Macmillan Nurses and raised a whopping £3,300.

Her trip started by arriving at Beijing and then a walk along the Great Wall of China before flying off to Yulin with, in her own words, 37 other mad people!

There, her 680km Trek started which included camping for 7 nights at temperatures below minus 12 degrees!

The trek including taking in some fantastic sights including Terracotta Army at Xi'an and also Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City.

What an amazing woman!

And here are some of her pictures from the trip...click on thumbnail to see full size pictures in all their glory!

LEJOG Cycle 2008

In November 2006, 10 of the 14 member LEJOG Cycle 2008 team met for the first time as they cycled from Lake Titicaca to Machu Picchu on a Macmillan Peru Bike Challenge. It was during this amazing trip that the idea to do the ultimate UK bike ride was formed: to spend 11 days cycling the entire length of the beautiful and diverse country that we all live in, at the same time physically challenging ourselves more than any of us have done before, raising money for an extremely worthwhile cause - Macmillan Cancer Support - and enjoying being part of a fantastic team. With a couple of 'big' birthdays during May/June 2008 for members of the group needing to be marked in some way, that was all the motivation that was needed to start the route planning.

You can still sponsor the team throughout the trip and beyond at www.justgiving.com/lejogcycle2008
