Bostin Heroes - PRESS RELEASE

FOR THE BLACK COUNTRY AND BEYOND: THE BOSTIN HEROES ARE COMING

~ Donato Esposito, Founder of Bostin Group announces a new West Midland -themed Web Comic~

Donato Esposito, founder of the Bostin Group, whose clothing company "Bostin" enjoys celebrity clientele including BBC presenter Adrian Chiles, comedian Frank Skinner and Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne, announces his latest venture, the Webcomic ”Bostin Heroes."

Donato has already been enjoying success with his Bostin brand and wanted a way to combine his local pride with his love of comics. To that end, he created Bostin Heroes: a Midlands-themed webcomic, aimed at a broad audience, but anchored in familiar landmarks, such as Dudley Castle and the Bull Ring. Over the coming weeks, teaser images and background material will appear at www.bostinheroes.com , gradually introducing the characters and their world, in advance of the launch of the ongoing strip.

Donato, 47, from Rubery explains:
"At this stage we don't want to give too much away and I am hoping that it will capture the public's imagination as there is a Hero inside all of us."

Bostin Heroes was created by Donato Esposito: the strip will be written by Matthew Craig and illustrated by Jack Davies, both who are local up and coming talent in the comics world. Jack is a graduate of Hi8us Midlands' Stripsearch programme, designed to find and nurture Midlands comics talent. Matthew has been described by the Forbidden Planet comics blog as "a perfect example of the breadth and passion of today's British small press scene."

"One of the ethoses of Bostin Group is about promoting local talent and Bostin Heroes is an excellent platform for Matthew and Jack to develop their skills."

The Esposito family are a talented bunch. Donato's brother Giovanni was Birmingham's Poet Laureate for 2006-7, and wrote the popular musical "Black Country Rock." And Donato has recently returned from a trek along the Peruvian Inca Trail in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Bostin Heroes aims to follow in these creative and passionate footsteps.

Notes to editors:

- For more information about the Bostin Group, visit www.bostin.net

- Matthew Craig, 32, writer and former molecular biologist. Described as "a perfect example of the breadth and passion of today's British small press scene" by Forbidden Planet's comics blog, Matthew was contacted by Donato Esposito following his appearance on Carl Chinn's show on BBC Radio WM. This was a Eureka moment for Donato as he had been searching for a local comic writer, and he thanks Carl for the introduction. Matthew Craig's work can be read online at http://www.thematthewcraig.com

- Jack Davies, 20 from Sutton Coldfield has been drawing from since around the age of 4 and has always had a love of comics and in particular the X-Men. He was attracted to this project because of his enthusiasm and love for the local area. Bostin Heroes stories have given him the opportunity to tackling the conventions of Superhero comics.

- The Bostin Group aims to promote a positive image for the West Midlands, to encourage local talent, and to encourage local people to be proud (and loud) of their heritage.

BBC Yourspace

Well i completed the Peru Inca Trail Trek, which was the most difficult thing i have ever done, both physically and mentally.

While training for this, i sent an idea in for a radio program to BBC and they liked it so much it was recorded as part of BBC Yourspace.

You can read what the show is about here and also listen online to what motivates ordinary people to the extraordinary for charity, which includes interviews with "Blind Dave" Heeley, Stephen Smyth, Juanita Williams, Kirsten Bolton and Kate Mitchell.
